We believe in a society where diversity is understood as an opportunity and where people live together respectfully, regardless of origin, culture, or worldview. As a non-profit association, we have been passionately committed to national and international educational, integration, and youth projects since 2016.
Our heart beats for an active, inclusive, and just future. We combine youth work, adult education, and human rights with joy, friendship, and genuine cooperation.
Making Europe experienced locally: Through Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges—including in Trofaiach—we create spaces where young people gain intercultural experience, strengthen social skills, and experience European values first-hand.
Living inclusion: We purposefully involve young people with fewer opportunities—including refugees—to break down barriers and foster genuine togetherness.
Broadening perspectives: We open doors in both directions. Over 800 young people from across Europe have discovered Styria through our work, while we have simultaneously enabled numerous local youth to participate in international projects across Europe.
Together, we encourage society to take responsibility and actively help shape social justice.
Shaping Diversity Together
AUSTRIAN YOUTH AWARD 2017

The Austrian Youth Award is presented to outstanding projects and initiatives in non-formal youth work in Austria.
In the category "Erasmus+: Youth in Action," our project "Non-formal education in the integration of unaccompanied minor refugees," led by project manager Goran Janevski, was also honored!
Many thanks to all supporters, participants, and especially to our wonderful youth!
ERASMUS+ AMBASSADOR 2021

Since 2015, the OeAD has been recognizing Erasmus+ ambassadors every year. These ambassadors are individuals who, through their personal commitment and dedication, make a significant contribution to the success of European programs and serve as role models for lived internationality.
Five Erasmus+ ambassadors were awarded as part of #ErasmusDays 2021; for the Youth sector, the ambassador is Katja Lenič Šalamun.
ERASMUS AWARD 2023

In 2023, we were awarded the Erasmus+ Award for our dedicated work in the youth sector.
With this award, the OeAD recognizes projects of outstanding quality and exceptional social commitment. The recognition fills us with great pride and confirms our approach: actively empowering young people with fewer opportunities—especially those with migration and refugee backgrounds—breaking down barriers, and making genuine European togetherness a tangible reality.
EUROPEAN LANGUAGE LABEL 2025

With the European Language Label, the European Commission awards particularly innovative and high-quality language projects. We were awarded for our project "Youth & Commute" in the youth sector!
The project opened up new participation opportunities for young people from marginalized groups by combining bicycle mobility with language learning, sustainability, and road safety. The central innovation was consistent multilingualism: all learning materials, videos, and handbooks were created in ten languages—including rarely represented languages such as Romani and Kurmanji.
